STEP 1
Verify
Before registering, verify that your company operates within the scope established in Article 10 of the Nation Brand Regulations.
Article 10: Areas of expertise required for the granting of licenses related to investments and exports.
The Costa Rican Foreign Trade Promoter (PROCOMER) is the executive agency responsible for the implementation, promotion, and application of the Nation Brand. In addition to issues related to attracting investments, exports, SME exporters (or those with export potential), foreign trade in general, and other objectives and functions of PROCOMER.

STEP 2
Quick Self-evaluation
It only takes about 20 min to complete the Self-evaluation, it will set your business in track to get licensed.

Review the requirements
If after finishing the self-evaluation and understanding the requirements you still have questions or doubts, you can contact [email protected] to address them.
STEP 4
Make an appointment with an evaluation team
- Book an appointment with the evaluation team here.
- Once the evaluation team has visited you, an evaluation report will be submitted to PROCOMER for review and approval/rejection.
STEP 5
Submit documents
If your company passes the evaluation, submit the following documents to PROCOMER:
- Copy of the evaluator’s report and affidavit.
- Corporate use license request form and its attachments.
- A copy of the company’s current and valid legal status and a copy of the legal representative’s identification card.
- The company must be up-to-date with the National Social Insurance.
STEP 6
Notification of acceptance
PROCOMER will review the evaluation and send a notification of acceptance/rejection.
